Here is how you can do a French braid

Step 1: Start with a small section of the hair that is nearest to the forehead. Use a brush to get rid of the tangles and make it smooth. Spray with some water if you want. It is optional. Just like you make a regular braid, start with dividing the hair into three sections. Let us name them Section A, B and C. Make sure you are not losing them and continue in the same process as you start. Take Strand A and cross it with B and take C and cross it with B.

Step 2: Get the Section A to be on your fingers and the palm. Press it over Section C. It is time to cross over the Section A and catch with your finger. You have to add a new section, D. It is also supposed to come over your finger by joining with C. Take the Section A and cross it over and add some hair from above the ear.

Step 3: Change hands and you have to and bring your other hand on the Section B. Pull it and use the index finger from the other finger to press it and bring the Section D to cross over. It is time to add another section. Since, this is joining with the older Section, name it new D. Keep doing this and do not make the mistake of getting another section. If you have made an error, back it up and repeat the part.

Step 4: Keep on brushing as you go down. The only way to make it simple is by having no tangles and smooth hair. If you have trouble getting new strands to join to your sections, use the comb. Make it according to your desired length. Use a rubber band to secure it. It will take a lot of practice and if you do not get it right the first time to do give up.

Step 5: To decorate it, you can add colored bobby pins if you have thick hair. You can add pearls using bobby pins. You can flower to it. Instead of using your ordinary rubber band, you can opt for a beautiful ribbon whose color matches with the dress you are wearing. If you are a bridesmaid, you can go with white ribbon.

Tips

• The secret is to hold the sections properly, begin with a regular braid and do not get lost in the process.
