Step 1: Start with choosing your chicken pieces. Do you need a full chicken or just the thighs or the breasts? There are many pieces for you to choose from. You can get them at the supermarket and decide whether you want fresh chicken or frozen ones. The frozen has the disadvantage of shrinking too much when boiled because of its mechanism so it is better to go for fresh. You can get a packet of thigs or boneless breasts of chicken that are cleaned so all you have to do is unwrap them.

Step 2: Soak the pieces in water and make sure it is soft to touch. Do not start boiling a hard piece or a frozen piece. Thaw it out if it is completely frozen. Some people believe in thawing inside the refrigerator so that it does not look texture. If you need to slice them, make sure you use a sharp knife and clean the areas of the kitchen counter, the knife, your hands and chopping board. In short, clean all the places that came in contact with the raw chicken.

You can add celery to the water. Add salt. If it is a full breast, wait at least thirty minutes. No matter what piece you are boiling, when you see it turning from pink to white that means it is becoming cooked from raw.

Step 4: Check the size of your piece, for example, if it a big chicken leg you will have to keep it in the water for more time and make sure it is completely dipped in water. If is a piece that you can cut in half, you can do that to save time. For example, slice up a chicken breast in half and decrease the boiling time.

Step 5: Once it is fully boiled, it will be easy to tear off with just your fingers. It is ready to be prepared in any way you like such as you can put it in a sandwich, taco or fajitas. You can eat it with salad, gravy or anyway you like.

Tip

· Instead of throwing away the water, use it as broth.
