Broccoli is a health thing to consume and having it almost every day will help your body a lot. They are great for children and if they refuse to eat it, steaming them can make them tasty. You can even steam broccoli with lemon or cheddar cheese to enhance the taste. If you are thinking of green vegetables on your menu, broccoli should come to your mind. Start with picking out fresh broccolis from the store. They tend to get yellow quickly so it is better to cook them the day you got them or the next day and do not make the mistake of leaving them out. Store them in a refrigerator.

Here is what you will need:

How to steam broccoli

· 5 cups of broccoli

· Salt

· Pepper

· Water

· Steamer

Here is what you do:

Step 1: Clean the broccoli by thoroughly washing with water. Cut them into pieces and make sure they are individual florets.

Step 2: In a medium-sized pot add the hot and let it boil. Insert a steamer and wait for the water to boil. Put the lid on. Put the broccoli and wait for three minutes.

Step 3: Turn them over and toss them gently to make sure they are getting steamed on both sides. Wait till they are done and get an empty, clean bowl ready to serve them. Sprinkle them with salt and pepper.

Here is what you need to make the steamed broccoli with cheddar cheese

· 5 cups of broccoli

· 13 tablespoons cheddar cheese (6.5 oz.)

· Salt

· Pepper

· Steamer

Here is what you do:

Step 1: Clean and chop the broccolis and run water through them to make sure they are perfectly clean. Pour them over the steamer and wait.

Step 2: While you are waiting, cut up the cheddar into thin slices using a sharp knife. Make sure the pieces are similar and does not look like than one is bigger than the other.

Step 3: After you take them out from the steamer, place them in a bowl and pour all of the cheddar cheese. Using a spoon stir gently because you do not want to break the florets as they are soft.

In case, you do not have a steamer or you do not want to use one, here is how you can do it.

Step 1: Wash the broccoli and cut them into small pieces. Do not throw out the stems, you can include them here even though you are not using any other equipment or even any type of oil.

Step 2: Get a non-stick pan and pour all of the broccoli pieces and use a wooden spoon to stir occasionally. Make sure the vegetable does not stick at the bottom since there is no grease. Stir them over low heat and put the lid on.

Step 3: Do not add any water because it will then be boiling not steaming. If you like you can add some chopped carrot pieces since you can eat them raw, you do not need to worry about them. Once, you find there is moisture under the broccolis in the pan, you know they are ready to serve.
