A stye is really painful and whoever has it always looks for ways to cure it or get rid of it as fast as possible. It is caused by bacteria and it resembles a small red pimple. It should be treated immediately. It does not depend on age, it can happen at any age and people who wear contact lenses are more at risk.

1.    Do not touch the stye or squeeze it or poke it. Do not wear contact lenses or use eye makeup. Use baby shampoo because they are good eyelid scrubs and wash the areas of the stye. Since it is caused by bacteria, apply the anti-bacterial cream.

2.    Cut a piece of cucumber into a round shape and place it on the eye for 20 minutes. Close your eyes after every hour or so to rest them. In warm water, add salt and dip a soft clean cloth in it and apply for the stye.

3.    Do not eat food that contains starch as researchers found a link with eating starch and a stye.  Do not stay near a person who is smoking as it will cause more pain.

 

How to get rid of a Stye fast: 

1.    Do not stare at the computer screen or television screen for more than 20 minutes at once when you have a stye. Take intervals to close your eyes and look away from the screen for some time. Sleep properly because sleeping is known for the fast cure of stye.

2.    Do not use eye makeup or contact lenses. Keep your hands and eyes clean at all times. Wash your eye with water that had cloves soaked in them for an hour. Put parsley leaves in warm water and use a soft clean cloth and dip it in the water and place over the stye.

3.    If the pain is too much take painkillers you have at home and avoid vitamin supplements. Do not eat sugary foods. Put a pack of soaked green tea over your eye. Place a cucumber over your eye for 20 minutes and repeat this process at least 5 times a day.  Make a warm pack of towel dipped in warm water and apply over the eye.

4.    Do eye exercises that involve moving your eye in round motion and up and down slowly and gently. You can apply potato paste in a cloth and after the eye exercise, apply the paste with a clean cloth. You might already have an eye doctor so go for a check-up. The doctor will ask you to take particular medicines which can cure the stye. Do not wait long enough to visit the doctor you can visit whenever the pain is intolerable.

5.    Put Aloe Vera over your eyelids using a clean cotton swab. Always keep your eyes clean using the mild baby shampoo.  Get guava leaves and apply them on the eyes for 7 minutes. Repeat these at least twice a day.
