How to make hash

Procedure:

· Shred the potatoes and soak then in a big bowl of cold water. Until the water gets cloudy we have to stir the potatoes in the bowl and then drain them. After this again we have to cover the potatoes with clean cold water. We have to dissolve the excess starch by stirring them again. Pat the potatoes dry with clean paper towels after draining them from the water. Squeeze out the excess moisture if left back in the potatoes.

· Heat the pan and add 3 table spoon of clarified butter in it. Be careful not to burn away the butter too much, just allow it to melt properly over medium heat. Pour the shredded potato after the butter has melted and stir gently to coat all the potatoes with the melted butter. Season with black pepper, paprika and salt to taste.

· Cook the potatoes for the next five minutes until a brown crust in formed at the bottom and stir continuously for the next 5 minutes till all the shredded potatoes are properly and uniformly browned all over.
