Equipment: Beaker or jar, Plastic wrap, Sieve, Cheese cloth and Whisk.
Here is what you need to do:
Step 1: Get the four cups of water that is in room temperature and since you are not going to boil it make sure the water is drinking water and is perfectly clean from before. Add it in a pot and when it is slightly heated take it out. You do not need to wait to see bubbles on it.
Step 2: Take a large container or a beaker and transfer all the water into it and pour the coffee beans as well. Cover the jar or container tightly with the plastic wrap. You do not want it to keep it open for the next few hours. You will leave it outside on the kitchen counter for the next six hours. It may seem like a long time but that will make the coffee taste better.
Step 3: You will need some cheesecloth and sieve while you pour out the coffee so that you can separate the solids and you will be left with liquid. The cheesecloth will act as a filter along the sieve. Take a tall glass and fill it halfway with ice cubes. You can use a sweet syrup to sweeten it and liquid milk.
How to make the sweetened simple syrup
Boil equal parts of water and sugar and wait till the sugar dissolves. While you are doing this, do not stop whisking or else the sugar will stick. You can add granulated coconut, vanilla beans or a single cinnamon. As it will be hot when you pour it, get a heatproof jar and use a sieve to separate the solids and let it cool. Add it in the cold coffee while it is hot or cold. It can be added either ways.
• You cannot use sugar to sweeten it because it will not dissolve in such cold water.
• To make the ice coffee have a taste of chocolate you can add chocolate sauce and make ice cubes out of it.
• You can use condensed milk if you want because they are sweeter and if you are thinking of not using milk at all you can pour coffee over scoops of vanilla ice-cream.
